What
is the measurement principle of the MoistureMeter SC?
The MoistureMeter SC measures the capacitance of the layered
structure composed of the probe, stratum corneum and the underlying
skin layers. The measured capacitance is directly proportional to the
water content of stratum corneum. The measurement frequency is 1,25 MHz.
What is the measurement depth?
The MoistureMeter SC measures the hydration of the stratum
corneum only. The effective measurement depth depends on the thickness
of the dry layer and is thus individual.
What do the lights in the probe indicate?
The lights indicate the contact pressure of the probe on the
skin during the measurement. The recommended contact pressure is used
when two green leds are on.
What
do the numbers and the lights on the main unit mean?
Numbers on the display are the hydration values. The four
most recent readings are shown, the latest in the right side. The
three-colour display on the front panel enables quick moisture
assessment from dry (yellow) to high moisture (blue).
How
do you clean the MoistureMeter SC?
Wipe
the cover of the MoistureMeter SC with a soft cloth and a mild
detergent solution. Clean the measurement probe with an antiseptic
cleansing towel or ethanol and dry after cleaning. Never place the
device in contact with water or any other liquid.
Are there any scientific studies to
compare your device with other moisture meters?
We have compared the MoistureMeter SC with the Corneometer (Courage
& Khazaka, Germany)
