Eye-VapoMeter – Easy-to-use tear evaporation rate meter
The Eye-VapoMeter is the first and only portable tear evaporation rate meter. Tear evaporation rate (TER) can change when suffering from dry eye syndrome or wearing contact lenses. Efficacy of eye drops or other treatments can also be followed by measuring TER.
The Eye-VapoMeter is based on proven technology capable of measuring very high evaporation rates (50-300 g/m²h), like TER quickly and without saturation. The instrument is designed to fit perfectly on the eye. The measurement is independent of instrument orientation and subject’s posture, that makes the measurements comfortable for the subject.

Closed chamber eye measurement principle
At the core of the VapoMeter is a humidity sensor mounted in a measurement chamber. The chamber is closed by the skin or other measurement surface during the measurement period and is unaffected by ambient airflows. The sensor monitors the increase of relative humidity (RH) inside the chamber during the measurement phase and the evaporation rate value (g/m²h) is automatically calculated from the RH increase. Ambient temperature and humidity are recorded using an external room sensor.
